WIDEX SUPER 440

Launched: 2013

Super

Replacement for: None – new product range

This hearing aid was created for people with a more severe or profound hearing loss. It has an impressive 143 dB output and an 87dB maximum gain and is also able to reduce wind noise by up to 18dB. You can take a look at the full range of Widex hearing aids here

The Super 440 is one of the most discreet super power instruments currently available as it comes as either an RITE (Receiver In The Ear) or RIC (Receiver In Canal). These hearing aids are small but powerful and still offer a long battery life.

As people with a severe loss often need to wear their hearing aids constantly, Widex have also engineered these aids to be extra weather resistant. This means you can continue to wear them in any conditions without worrying about damage.

The Widex Super is available in 2 levels of technology, with the Super 440 being the high-end model in the range. It also offers the wearer a choice of colours to let you truly personalise the hearing aids.

As well as the new attractive design and extra power, the Widex Super hearing aids also boast an excellent range of features to help manage your hearing loss in any situation.

Zen

The Widex Super 440 is currently the only super power hearing aid on the market that offers a specialised tinnitus feature. By using a range of tones, this will mask the ringing sounds from your tinnitus, easing the discomfort.

Widex have also used the True ISP technology to improve on some of the key features from their previous ranges.

15 Channels

These channels process the different frequency ranges so you can hear the sounds more clearly. The greater the number of channels, the more precisely the aids can be programmed to manage your particular hearing loss.

5 Programmes

These programs can be set up and then easily selected to manage your hearing loss in a variety of different situations or environments.

TruSound Softener

This feature will ‘soften’ any unexpected loud noises so you never lose your listening comfort.

Feedback Cancelling

This suppresses the whistling noises caused by feedback to ensure your hearing is always clear and free of distortion

Noise Reduction

Background noise can often overpower speech and make conversations in certain environments difficult. This feature helps to block out this noise so you always hear the speech sounds clearly

Audibility Extender

This feature brings the high frequencies that you can’t hear down into a range that you can so you don’t miss any sounds.

Output Extender

This is designed to help with the lower frequency sounds by boosting the bass sounds that are below 1 kHz

Classic Program

This is designed to help you slowly acclimatise to wearing a super power hearing aid, ensuring a smooth transition.

Speech Enhancer SII

This further improves your ability to hear speech by focusing on the voice you want to hear in a crowd. It then makes this clearer by giving the speech sound priority over other background noise.

Digital Pinna

This feature helps to give you a natural listening experience by recreating the normal acoustics of your ear.

As well as offering a super power hearing solution, the Widex Super can also be paired with the DEX range of wireless accessories. This gives you even more accessibility to your audio devices.

RC-DEX

This is a small and attractive remote control that allows you to control basic volume and program features

TV-DEX

People with a severe or profound loss often report difficulty with watching television as the sound can appear muffled. This accessory streams the sound directly into your hearing aids making it clearer and also gives you the freedom to adjust the volume when needed

Phone-DEX

This accessory connects your hearing aids to your landline telephone. It helps you to hear more clearly and in both ears at the same time.

M-DEX

This does the same job as the Phone-DEX but works for your mobile phone. It will also allow you to hear the conversation in both ears and also lets you hear hands free at the push of a button.
