The Micon is the new range of hearing aids from Siemens that work on their new Micon platform technology. This new platform offers even better sound quality along with greater audibility and speech intelligibility which Siemens call ‘Soundability’.
Instead of just having different names for each technology level, Siemens give each of their styles its own brand name so you can easily identify the different hearing aids. You can take a look at the full range of Siemens hearing aids here.
The Micon range is available in three levels of technology, 7mi, 5mi and 3mi. At the 5mi level you have the choice of six different hearing aid styles.
Pure – RIC (Receiver in Canal)
Ace – Mini RIC (Receiver in Canal)
Motion – BTE (Behind the Ear)
Life – Mini BTE (Behind the Ear)
Aquaris – Highly waterproof BTE (Behind the Ear)
Insio – Custom models including ITE (In the Ear), ITC (In the Canal) and CIC (Completely in Canal)
The Micon BestSound technology from Siemens gives users their e2e wireless feature. This means your hearing aids will now communicate with each other to give you the best sound. The Micon platform works on three different elements of hearing loss to improve the overall experience you receive from their hearing aids. These are MiSound, MiGuide and MiFocus and each one has a number of different features that manage the various aspects of your hearing loss.
Feedback can often cause irritating whistling sounds that reduce your listening comfort. This feature eliminates this to keep hearing clear
Background noise can often be a problem for hearing aid users. This feature suppresses the unwanted noise leaving the speech sounds much clearer
Soundsmoothing cushions any sudden loud noises to maintain listening comfort.
This will extend the range of higher frequency sounds that you can hear
This suppresses wind noise to ease distortion so you can hear in even difficult listening situations
The new Micon platform has an impressive 12 kHz bandwidth. At 32 channels, the mid-level hearing aid in the Siemens range has more sound processing channels than many top of the range devices from other manufacturers.
This retains a clear and natural sound by constantly analysing the environment and adjusting the hearing aids accordingly
The sound you hear will always be as clear as possible because TruEar will recreate the normal acoustics of your ear.
This feature will gradually acclimatise you to different amplification levels over a period of time. This means you may not need as many follow up appointments with your audiologist.
An accurate log is recorded of the activity of your hearing aids. Thanks to this, your audiologist can ensure the hearing aids are performing as well as possible
The Micon 5mi is also compatible with the range of wireless accessories developed by Siemens. This means you can conveniently connect to different devices.
The Tek connects you to your mobile phone, music player or even your television. The sound can be transmitted directly into your hearing aids giving you a clear and comfortable listening experience.
This will also allow you to stream sound from your audio devices and also works as a remote control.
This is a remote control that allows you to adjust things such as volume or programs without having to worry about fiddly control buttons on the hearing aids.
The e-Pen is an extremely discreet remote control, designed to look just like a normal pen fountain pen but with a few twists it can change volume or program settings for you.
