The Siemens Micon is their new range of hearing aids that work on the new Micon platform technology. This new platform offers better sound quality along with greater audibility which Siemens call ‘Soundability’.
Rather than just having different names for each technology level, Siemens also give each of their styles its own brand name so you can easily identify each hearing aid. You can take a look at the full range of Siemens hearing aids here.
These hearing aids are available in three levels of technology, 7mi, 5mi and 3mi. At the 7mi level you have the choice of six different hearing aid styles.
Pure – RIC (Receiver in Canal)
Ace – Mini RIC (Receiver in Canal)
Motion – BTE (Behind the Ear)
Life – Mini BTE (Behind the Ear)
Aquaris – Highly waterproof BTE (Behind the Ear)
Insio – Custom models including ITE (In the Ear), ITC (In the Canal) and CIC (Completely in Canal)
Micon BestSound technology allows the e2e wireless feature which means your hearing aids now communicate with each other to give you the best sound. The Micon platform also works on three different elements to improve your hearing. These are MiSound, MiGuide and MiFocus and each one is comprised of different features to manage the various aspects of your hearing loss.
This feature will ensure that any whistling feedback noises are eliminated
This will suppress the unwanted background noise to make the speech sounds that you want to hear much clearer.
This feature has been designed to soften the loud and unexpected noises so you always have comfort in your listening experience.
This extends the higher frequency sounds. This particularly helps when listening to music or audio streaming.
Wind noise can often cause distortion for hearing aid users so this feature helps to block it out and keep your hearing clear
The new Micon platform means that these hearing aids now have 12 kHz bandwidth. This has led to an impressive 48 sound processing channels which means your hearing aids can be tuned more precisely than ever.
This feature will continuously analyse your environment and detect the different levels of sound. It will then adapt automatically to ensure you have a clear and natural sound quality.
TruEar simulates the natural acoustic sound of your ear. This means that the sound you hear is as clear and natural as possible.
As you wear the hearing aids, this feature will gradually acclimatise you to the different amplification levels. This can be really useful as it can reduce the number of follow up appointments needed with your audiologist.
This feature allows your audiologist to see an accurate log of the hearing aid’s activity. This means they can see how the aids are performing and make any necessary adjustments.
The Siemens 7mi also has the new Tinnitus Noiser. This is a feature that uses masking technology to relieve the symptoms of tinnitus.
Along with all these features, the Micon 7mi is also compatible with Siemens range of wireless accessories, giving you a convenient way to connect to everyday devices.
This device is designed for giving you connection to things like your mobile phone, music player or even your TV. The sound is transmitted directly into the hearing aids giving you a clear listening experience.
This works in the same way as the Tek but has the added feature of being a handy remote control for your hearing aids.
This is a small remote control that allows you to change things such as volume or programs.
The e-Pen has been designed as an extremely discreet remote control. It looks just like an average fountain pen but with a few twists it will adjust the settings of your hearing aids.
