The X Series is the latest in hearing technology from Starkey. It covers most hearing aid styles and also offers a choice of colours to further personalise them
The X Series is made up of three different models known as the Wi, Xino and 3 Series. They are available in 3 levels of technology, of which the (i) 90 is the mid-level in the range. You can take a look at the full range of Starkey hearing aids here
The Wi Series is an group of hearing aid styles that all have wireless compatibility. These styles can be identified by the ‘i’ next to the number. They are available in a range of different styles including RIC (Receiver in Canal), CIC (Completely in Canal), ITC (In the Canal) and ITE (In the Ear).
The 3 Series is very similar in technology to the Wi as it has wireless compatibility and the same range of features. The difference is that the 3 Series has a new design to make it easier to use. It has a new switch design for volume and program control and also includes the new Snapfit feature for easier receiver connection. The 3 series is available in two styles which are RIC (Receiver in Canal) and Mini BTE (Behind the Ear).
The Xino is a mini RIC (Receiver in Canal) hearing aid from Starkey. It has a very discreet design and offers many of the same features as the Wi and 3 Series. This model is not compatible with Starkey’s Surflink wireless accessories.
This range of hearing aids also has a protective coating known as Hydrashield. This creates a barrier that keeps away sweat and ear wax that may otherwise damage the aids.
The Starkey X Series (i) 90 has a range of features help give you the best sound quality possible while keeping out unwanted noise.
The number of sound processing channels determines how precisely your hearing aids can be tuned.
This allows the hearing aids to be set to manage your hearing loss in the environments you are in most often.
Using Starkey’s Purewave technology, this feature helps to eliminate any whistling feedback noise.
This feature analyses your environment and detects speech patterns. Priority is then given to these patterns so they sound much clearer. On the Starkey X Series (i) 90, this feature has 3 adaptation levels.
This feature is designed to reduce background noise so speech does not get lost under all the noise. The X Series (i) 90 has a noise reduction strength of up to 8 dB.
With this feature, your audiologist can transfer your preferred settings from your old hearing aids onto your new X Series (i) 90’s.
Self-Learning teaches the hearing aids your settings so they can adjust automatically when required.
Many of the styles in this range can be connected to Starkey’s Surflink wireless accessories. This means the sound from your music or media devices can be streamed directly into your hearing aids.
The media streamer picks up the sound from your radio, music player or television and then transmits it straight into your X Series hearing aids.
This also works as a media streamer but will also connect to your mobile phone so you can hear the conversation in both ears. It can also be used as a handy remote control.
This remote control has 3 modes and allows you to adjust things like programmes and volume.
