The Alta range was launched by Oticon to be their new premium level of hearing aid technology. These aids are available in four different styles including BTE (Behind the Ear), RITE (Receiver in the Ear), ITE (In the Ear) and CIC (Completely in Canal). This range has two levels of technology with the Alta being the lower of the two. You can take a look at the full range of Oticon hearing aids here.
What makes these hearing aids different to the previous models is that they contain Oticon’s new Inium platform technology. This gives you more advanced sound processing ability which means an overall improved quality of sound.
The Oticon Alta has fewer features than the more advanced Alta Pro but still offers a good range to suit different hearing needs.
Unusually, the Alta has the same number of channels as the Alta Pro. These allow your hearing aids to be tuned specifically for your own particular hearing loss.
The SpeechGuard E is a feature designed to improve both signal and frequency processing. This can help to keep the speech sounds clear and natural.
This feature is designed to suppress any feedback noises to prevent distortion.
This feature makes your hearing aids feel more personal as you can adjust the settings yourself to give you just the right sound for you. You can alter things like sound preferences, noise management, sound compression and microphone directionality so you receive the clearest and most natural sound possible.
The Oticon Alta also features the new, innovative coating which helps to protect the hearing aids. It creates a barrier against things like wax, dust or sweat. Some of the hearing aid’s internal components also have an extra Nano coating to give them even more protection.
Some of the styles in the Alta range can still be connected to Oticon’s Connectline wireless accessories. This lets you pair the hearing aids to a number of your audio devices from mobile phones to your television.
This accessory is used in conjunction with the other devices to transmit the sound signals. It can be worn around the neck to give you a hands free experience..
This will send the signal from the television into your hearing aids via the streamer. This gives you a clearer sound and more control over the volume levels
With this device, you can pair the hearing aids to your landline phone so you can hear clearly and in both ears at the same time.
The Connectline microphone can be used to allow you to enjoy a conversation however noisy the environment. This little device can pick up the sound from another person’s voice and send it directly to the hearing aids. This can help to cut out the background noise if you are in a noisy listening environment.
