The Nera Pro has been launched by Oticon as their new advanced level of hearing aid technology. These aids are available in five different styles including BTE (Behind the Ear), RITE (Receiver in the Ear), ITE (In the Ear), ITC (In the Canal) and CIC (Completely in Canal). This range has two levels of technology with the Nera Pro being the higher of the two. You can take a look at the full range of Oticon hearing aids here.
The most significant new addition Oticon have made is the new Inium platform technology. This gives the wearer more advanced sound processing which gives an overall improved sound quality.
Oticon have also introduced some new and improved features to make your listening experience even better.
These sound channels process the different frequencies and allow your hearing aids to be programmed for your particular needs. The higher the number of channels, the more finely this can be done.
This feature balances the different sounds to ensure that speech is not lost under background noise. It constantly analyses your environment and adapts as needed.
This gives the wearer a greater awareness of the direction that different sounds are coming from. It also helps to separate these sounds to improve clarity.
The feedback shield is designed to suppress any whistling sounds that could possibly be caused by feedback from the hearing aids
The YouMatic feature ensures that you are getting just the right personalisation levels for your particular hearing loss. It gives you control over the different speech, sound and noise management settings.
Oticon have also added a number of protective seals to these hearing aids. They create a barrier which shields them from substances like wax, dust or sweat. Some of the internal components have also have been given an additional Nano coating for extra protection.
Many of the styles in this range can also be connected to Oticon’s Connectline range of accessories. They allow you to have the sound from devices such as your phone or television streamed directly into your hearing aids.
This is used to transmit the sound signals from your other devices into your hearing aids. It can be worn around the neck for hands free streaming. It can also be used as a remote control for the volume and settings of your hearing aids.
When used with your Connectline streamer, this will send the signal from your television directly into the hearing aids for a clearer sound.
This device allows the connection of your hearing aids to a landline phone. This improves your ability to hear the conversation as the sound is transmitted to both ears.
This accessory will pick up the sound of another person’s voice and send it directly into the hearing aids. This can make conversations in noisy environments much easier by helping to cut out the background noise.
